Because I know this came up, what is the typical waiting period for application approval?

It varies from anywhere between a couple of hours to a week. We try to check the applications as often as possible, but sometimes things come up, or we need to check and make sure the character is IC if we're unfamiliar with the series, you know? Regardless, we'll always do our best to accept new players as soon as we can.

Adult logs are permited. However, it is necessary that you mark your log with the proper warnings and that you friendlock it. If we find an unlocked NC-17 log, it will be deleted. This is to prevent LJ from getting on our backs about the whole 'oh noes highschool kids having sex' thing they put everyone through during the strike out, so it's really quite important!

I have never joined an rp on lj before and the whole "posting" is confusing me. All mod posts go in the "mod journal" all "ooc posts" go in the "ooc journal", but the last journal is strage. I feel as though people are just posting in a journal as their character, not actually "playing" the rp. How do you set the scene and begin the "thread" in order to play?
Is the reason that it seems as though nothing is going on because you are waiting for more people until you begin playing?
Once everyone begins playing will there still be strange "in character journal entires" or will it be strictly "action"?
I apologize. I am having difficulty explaining myself, but I am quite confused.
Is there any way you can break this down or clear this up?

Okay, Tricky, lemme ask you this. Have you ever played on a forum RP before? Basically, the Logs act like that. It's third person narrative, tagging in and out to tell a collective story.

The main community is more or less a School Network, in which players post in character as if it the character typing out their thoughts and feelings. It's all first person, speaking as a character. It is here that situations come up where Logs can be started from. This is, of course, what makes LJ unique from most forum RP. The Logs aren't done at random or at the whim of a mod or DM/ST. The situations come up on the network, and are played out on the Logs. Let me show you an example...

In these three Network threads a situation is set up for a scene between Ky, Sol, and Jam after school. The actual scene is played out in this Log thread. See?

Ahn~ Are there any details oin the principal? Would they count as a teacher? I've been wanting to apply as a teacher and I was wondering if 'principal was an option.

Actually, the principal is set to be Jade from Tales of the Abyss. Sorry I haven't really made that public. I'm going to be playing him soon enough, hopefully...

So I am still getting the hang of all of this, and I was wondering.. how do you in the CBLogs, hide your large post so that it dosent stretch the page.. but when people post on your entry, the full post is there?

Question!

What period of time does the school year span? Are there two semesters plus summer school? Are the classes all monday through friday or are they staggered(some MWF, some TTh)?

I'm sure it makes absolutely no difference in actual playing, but I like to know these things. XD;

It is a two semester + summer system. The ending dates and beginning dates, like with all schools, shift depending on the year. As far as the schedule, we never really discussed it.
